OcuDyne™ II is a comprehensive multivitamin and multimineral formula in vegetarian capsules, designed by Allergy Research Group to support eye and skin health. It was originally formulated by Jonathan Wright, M.D. and Alan R. Gaby, M.D.
The formula centers on carotenoids and botanical extracts chosen for their roles in ocular nutrition. Lutein is supplied as FloraGLO® Lutein 10% CWS beadlet, a water-dispersible form extracted from marigold flowers; FloraGLO® is a registered trademark of Kemin Industries, Inc. Zeaxanthin is also provided as FloraGLO®. Bilberry (berry) extract is standardized to 25% anthocyanosides. Ginkgo (leaf) extract is standardized to 24% flavonglycosides and 6% terpene lactones.
Vitamins are provided in specific forms: folate as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) via Quatrefolic® ([6S]-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, glucosamine salt) — a registered trademark of Gnosis S.p.A. (U.S. Patent No. 7,947,662) — and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin. Vitamin E is delivered as d-alpha-tocopherol succinate alongside mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols as EvNolMax® complex, a trademark of ExcelVite Inc. protected by U.S. Patent Nos. 6,596,306 and 7,211,274. Vitamin A is provided as a combination of beta-carotene and retinyl palmitate. Vitamin D3 is supplied as cholecalciferol.
The formula also includes antioxidants alpha-lipoic acid and lycopene; key amino acids N-acetyl-L-cysteine, glycine, L-methionine, taurine, and L-glutamic acid; the bioflavonoid quercetin dihydrate; and horsetail (stem) extract. Minerals are provided in specific forms: calcium and magnesium as citrates, zinc as zinc citrate, copper as copper bisglycinate, selenium as a 50/50 blend of sodium selenite and selenomethionine, chromium as chromium picolinate, and boron as boron citrate. The capsule shell is hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, making the product suitable for vegetarians.
In addition to eye and skin health support, OcuDyne™ II may also be used as a broad-spectrum multivitamin and multimineral formula.
