The MOUTHWATCHERS Adult Toothbrush is a soft, manual toothbrush developed by Dr. Plotka and made by Cutting Edge International, LLC. It is designed for adult use and features a dual-layer bristle system made from advanced PBT (polyester) plastic — an outer layer of ultra-thin flossing bristles and an inner layer of thicker, firmer bristles — with each polyester bristle infused with silver for antimicrobial action.
The outer flossing bristles taper to a tip of 1 micrometer — 10 times thinner than bristles on ordinary toothbrushes and approximately 1/100th the diameter of a human hair — allowing them to reach into the fossa region and along the gum line. The inner, thicker bristles support complete cleaning of tooth surfaces. Together the two layers provide what the manufacturer describes as "dual action" cleaning. The bristles are soft and suited for people with sensitive gums, crown and bridge work, and braces.
Each polyester bristle is infused with silver, which the manufacturer states eliminates 99.9% of bacteria that builds up on bristles within 6 hours. The toothbrush is BPA free, cruelty-free, and not tested on animals. It is a manual, reusable brush and should be replaced every 3–4 months.
