Pure Encapsulations Macular Support Formula is a vegetarian capsule formula combining antioxidants and botanicals designed to support the macula, the central area of the retina responsible for sharp vision.
FloraGLO® lutein and zeaxanthin are the only two carotenoids found in macular pigment. Together they promote the integrity and density of the macular pigment and help maintain the health of the optical lens. The formula also contains a Proprietary mixed carotenoid blend supplying lutein, lycopene, and zeaxanthin for broader carotenoid support. Vitamin C, as ascorbic acid, and carotenoids together support optimal macular protection and ocular health.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (free-form) is a precursor to glutathione, one of the natural antioxidants found in retinal tissues, and supports healthy glutathione levels and protection against oxidative stress to the lens. Setria® glutathione (reduced) provides glutathione directly in its reduced form to further support antioxidant status in ocular tissues.
Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) fruit extract, standardized to 25% anthocyanosides, supports visual function including light-to-dark adjustment and helps moderate visual fatigue. Grape (Vitis vinifera) seed extract, standardized to 92% polyphenols, contributes antioxidant support within the retina.
Pure Encapsulations produces this formula to be gluten-free, Non-GMO, and hypoallergenic. It is free from wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners, coatings and shellacs, GMOs, unnecessary binders, fillers and preservatives, magnesium stearate, and trans fat and hydrogenated oils.
