Innate Immune Support is a vegetarian capsule formula by Pure Encapsulations, part of the PureResponse™ Immune Protocol. It is formulated to promote cell-mediated immune response, including NK cell and macrophage activity, and to support natural defenses and mucosal health.
Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) root extract supplies a variety of active constituents, including saponins and flavonoids, that contribute to its long tradition of immune and cytokine balance support. In vitro and animal studies cited by the manufacturer suggest that astragalus supports NK cell activity, as well as IgA and IgG levels in serum, key antibodies that play a critical role in mucosal immune defense.
AP-Bio™ andrographis (Andrographis paniculata) leaf extract is standardized to contain 31.5% andrographolide and other bioactive diterpene lactones. Each batch is biologically standardized using the lipoxygenase inhibition assay. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study cited by the manufacturer, 200 mg of AP-Bio™ andrographis taken for five days promoted immune function and supported respiratory comfort. In vitro assays cited by the manufacturer suggest it helps support macrophage function and cytokine balance involving IL-1, IL-6, and MCP-1.
The formula provides reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) through two distinct components: a fruiting body extract and a highly purified, reishi mushroom-derived beta 1,3/1,6-D glucan extract from mycelia, standardized to contain 70% beta 1,3/1,6 glucan. Reishi mushroom offers a rich source of polysaccharides to promote cell-mediated immunity. The beta glucan fraction is yeast-free, with lectins derived from reishi mushroom.
Pure Encapsulations formulates Innate Immune Support to be gluten-free, non-GMO, soy-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan.
