Mega Probiotic™ ND 50, distributed by DaVinci® Laboratories and manufactured by FoodScience® LLC, is a capsule-form probiotic supplement containing 9 species of microorganisms from non-dairy sources, formulated to provide a full spectrum of probiotic strains. The active complex — the Stabilized Nondairy Probiotic Complex — comprises five Lactobacillus strains (L. acidophilus UALa-01™, L. plantarum UALp-05™, L. casei UALc-03™, L. salivarius UALs-07™, and L. rhamnosus UALrh-18™), one Streptococcus strain (S. thermophilus UASt-09™), and three Bifidobacterium strains (B. breve UABb-11™, B. bifidum UABb-10™, and B. longum UABl-14™), each identified with a UA Formulation Strain trademark of CHR Hansen A/S.
The formula also includes Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), a soluble fiber and prebiotic carrying the NutraFlora® trademark of the Ingredion group of companies, which selectively encourages the proliferation of healthy intestinal probiotics. This combination of ingredients supports digestive tract health.
Because each strain has an affinity for a different part of the digestive tract and a unique mechanism of action, a product delivering multiple strains is preferable to single-strain products. The non-dairy sourcing of all microorganisms makes this formula suitable for those avoiding dairy.
